Trip to China (part 4), Haiyang, in the mountain

Another tourist attraction in Haiyang is a national forest park in the mountains. My first visit to the park. Very impressed. It was very hot and humid that day, but the shades of the tress and the cool and refreshing stream following along the hiking trail made the heat much bearable.

Oh, how I loved the stream! The river is surprisingly clear, sometimes humming smoothly and sometimes rushing through rocks with a roaring sound. One place that we all enjoyed was called water-covered bridge. It's basically a smooth stone paved bridge in the river passage. Water runs through the bridge slowly, about one foot deep at most. While dad, uncle, and Daniel went on hiking to one of peaks, James and I stayed on the bridge, soaking our feet in the stream and throwing rocks to the water.

Oh, take a look at the blue sign. If you can't read Chinese, will you be  able to guess what the sign was trying to say? We got a good laugh out of it.

We saw this kind of butterfly all the way up.
Wild flowers look like lily.

A sign with funny English.
